dud prints

The latest set of screens that I have been making haven't been turning out quite right for some reason, which is quite annoying. Some detailed areas aren't washing out after exposing the screen, so instead of wasting the screen and starting again I have overlayed the images to create new images. I will probably use these as backgrounds for other paintings or pictures.

Kind of nice creating something useful out of something which was imperfect. Creating something else out of something else's imperfections.

Hmmm, interesting.

Put up by ITW for the REUSE PROJECT 2, in Tel Aviv. Reusing a 3 storey, one block long, abandoned building set to be demolished. Very cool project. Happy to be a part of it, as some of the other artists taking part I hugely admire.

Statement from the show:

"The REUSE PROJECT 2 here in Tel Aviv was a great success and has accomplished its goal to raise public awareness about the issues of abandoned and publicly forgotten spaces in the process. REUSE PROJECT 2, like the first REUSE PROJECT in Jerusalem last year, has become a larger challenge to the public and an exercise in space liberation, urban renewal, and guerrilla art. Its about giving back something positive to the community and making a social statement through our expressions at the same time."
